Toronto Blue Jays Earn Fall Classic Matchup Against Los Angeles Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

The outfielder previously helped the Houston Astros claiming the championship in 2017.

Toronto's Blue Jays advanced to their initial World Series after 1993 by beating the Seattle Mariners in the seventh Game 7 of the ALCS.

Trailing three runs to one, outfielder George Springer hit a three-run home run in the seventh frame, leading the Toronto squad in MLB to a 4-3 triumph in the series. Next up are the defending champions, the team that is the defending champions, in the forthcoming World Series.

"I'm just so happy for everyone here, the city, our country," Springer stated, a key player of the Astros team that claimed the 2017 World Series. "It's truly an unbelievable moment."

The veteran has now hit 23 total playoff homers, placing him third in history behind Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Altuve (twenty-seven).

"I can't think of another person in the world that I'd choose in that situation besides him with his post-season brilliance," said Schneider.

The Mariners, despite leading the series 2-0 and 3-2, remain the sole team that has never reached in a World Series.

Manager Dan Wilson said "certainly that it hurts" following his club's elimination at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but applauded their efforts this season.

"It's a special team. Unfortunately that we ended up on the losing end of the series," he remarked.

Toronto's team claimed the championship on their two prior appearances in 1992 and '93, and will welcome the Los Angeles in the first game on this Friday.
