The newest action-packed instalment that players dived into was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is famous for delighting in chaos and madness with similar excitement, all while telling gripping, socially charged tales. No wonder then that the network’s decision for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two producers whose projects have represented all of those elements.

About the Series

Based on Ubisoft's hit video game series, the limited anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' format by having a fresh backdrop and cast of characters in each season.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as executive producers on the series via their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also star in the show, but as of now, we are unsure of what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for another season, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.

“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally supportive, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX partners constantly supports me with their constant belief and assistance.”

Every instalment is a interpretation of a theme, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To develop a big action show that can evolve from year to year, while always exploring the nature of humanity through this complex and unpredictable lens, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to collaborate with Rob and bring our shared irreverent, daring approach to the screen.”

A schedule for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
