Bills' Disappointing Performance Gives New England Route to AFC East Lead - Best of NFL Week 10

Week 10 again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many people into the NFL
This outcome could have created opportunities for the New England Patriots to move back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a remaining games that gives them an edge over their eight and two competitors
Meanwhile in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash in week 11, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the MVP award
The Breakdown - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?
Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or something more? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer
The Bills had secured seven victories in a row against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the start as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 victors in an eye-opening result - and performance
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the team's initial first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the fourth - yes Miami had ten days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg laid by one of the NFL's top offences
Tua Tagovailoa passed for two scores but running back Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two scores
Containing the NFL's top running game was also key, with James Cook and company registering just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the year and slightly more than half their 161.5 yard average
Additionally there were the three crucial turnovers, and the pair from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his final quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to a touchdown just two plays
It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defensive side and Josh Allen attempting to overcompensate to rescue his squad out of it - rather than the calm, disciplined, well-balanced Bills we've witnessed this year
The Dolphins have demonstrated a bit of everything this year so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll need an instant response in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the New England are quietly moving into a nice lead at the top of the American Football Conference East
Spotlight - New England Identify Route to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the Patriots, they're among three different eight and two squads in the league, all American Football Conference teams, but are they the best?
One could find flaws in the Patriots, the Broncos and Indianapolis actually for dominating the lesser sides, with only five of their combined 24 wins achieved against teams with a winning record - and one example was the Indianapolis defeating the Denver
The Broncos defeated the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the final quarter while Indy can ride Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's win in Tampa to their prime time success in Orchard Park appears to be a statement
Their two defeats occurred in recently appointed coach Vrabel's first three contests, with seven consecutive wins, similar to the Broncos, since then - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to get ready was significant
Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he definitely earns credit for bravery after taking some savage hits in Tampa but persevering to steer his side to success
The defensive unit is solid and first-year running back Henderson exploded on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth different runner to break 22 miles per hour this season on his first score
Although you can debate who 'the best' is technically, the Pats should be favourites to end with the best record thanks to their remaining opponents - which includes just a single matchup against a winning team, although a huge one against the Bills
Visiting the Ravens is also tough, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West with the Kansas City to play twice, the Chargers (who could also challenge for top seed but face the identical challenge) and also the Packers on the fixture list
The Indianapolis also face the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two games with the five and four Jacksonville to face. There's a long way to travel but the door is available for a surprise top seed in the AFC
Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Week 11 Showdown
Both squads with strong arguments to be better than all of the three 8-2 sides are NFC West rivals the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who both scored 40 burgers to reach 7-2 before the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the two in Los Angeles
Both have won four in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Darnold playing at an elite level (although Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units giving up fewer than twenty points a contest
Both could easily be undefeated as too - especially the Rams as their pair of losses occurred in extra time against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a game-winning kick with the final play deflected and run back by the Philadelphia for a score
The Seahawks were also defeated to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in week one, before losing to the final play of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they're truly among the top teams in the league
The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season to date
Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
Jonathan Taylor could be on for a historic year after his remarkable performance in Germany - rushing for 244 yards, scoring three touchdowns and adding an additional 42 {receiving yards
